Yahoo Security Issues for Cam Girls

Well that's the bad news. The good news is that you can prevent most of these problems by taking a few simple precautions:

Yahoo Profiles

NEVER log into a yahoo chat room on your real Yahoo log-in id. Your Yahoo id is the name you use when you first log into Yahoo. Instead, use a 'profile' name or 'alias.' To set up a new profile, in Yahoo Messenger, go to Login - My Profiles then click 'Create/Edit My Profiles.' Set up TWO new profiles. You will use one for chatting and the other for shows.

To log into the chatrooms on your new chat profile, go to 'Tools - Yahoo Chat - Join Room.' At the top of the window you will see a drop down list of your profiles (Enter Chat Room as:). Select your new chat profile, then browse to the room you wish to join. You can then add the room to your favorites and you will automatically log in under that profile whenever you join it.

When you are ready to do a show, open your web cam and select "File - Change Identity." Select your cam profile for the list. You will have to send a message to your client from your cam profile. You can do this in the IM window in the drop down menu beside "Send As." Then you can invite them to view your cam.

If you take these precautions, you will find that Yahoo will be much more stable & the trouble-makers will move on to easier prey.

You will still get disconnected from Yahoo from time to time. This does NOT mean that someone is booting you. It simply means that you have been disconnected from the server you were connected to.

Previews

One of the greatest sources of security problems are free previews. First of all, let me tell you that in almost EVERY instance, when someone asks for a free preview, they have NO intention of buying a show. For some reason, real customers do not ask for previews. In all honesty I can say that doing previews is a total waste of time. You may get a show out of it once in a while but the amount of time you will waste and the risk you expose yourself to is far to great to justify doing free previews.

I ONLY do previews for guys who can prove that they have a valid credit card. Some girls offer previews for $1 which works the same way. I offer the option of signing up for Sexkey or Niteflirt as a way of verifying their credit cards. It is unfortunate, but giving free previews to just anyone who asks is both time consuming and dangerous.

Another option (if you have more patience than I do) is to write the guy's screen name on a piece of paper, hold it up to the cam and take a screen shot. You can then email the pic to him. To take a screen shot, simply click on the cam window and select 'alt - print screen' on your keyboard. Paste the screen shot into MS Paint, or Word, or whatever you have. Save it as a .jpg and email it to the prospective customer.

You can also ask him for references. Ask for the name of another cam girl he has bought shows from. If you know that she is a legitimate cam girl, message her and ask her to vouch for him.

Passwords

Use a password that is a combination of letters and numbers and not a 'real' word that would come up in a password hacking script. For example instead of using 'october' as a password, use '0ct0ber' replacing the O's with zeros. Type your username and password every time you log in. Do check the box that will remember it for you. Change your password on a regular basis.

In Conclusion...

You MUST protect yourself. Running 'naked' on Yahoo is reckless & leaves you extremely vulnerable. By using Y!TunnelPro, profiles on Yahoo Messenger, and only giving previews to qualified customers, you will reduce your risk and make your life much easier in the long run.
